Blue Market Music Gala’s

Saturday 3rd September, heralded the finale of the summer music Gala’s and we would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere gratitude to Mr Stephen Pierre, founder, and creative force behind the Unity Music Arts Team (UMAT), who provided a top quality programme of free community events each month at The Blue Market.

The Blue Market Music Gala’s have become a recognised highlight in the area, proudly supporting creative musical talent, equality, diversity and community inclusiveness, as well as boosting footfall, customer retention and attracting new visitors to the Blue.
These highly engaging events bring people of all backgrounds together and support community cohesion with a varied programme of acts and locals featuring pop, rock, blues, reggae, community choirs as well as the highly popular and energetic community dance sessions.

Stephen told us:

“Over the past 3 years I have worked tirelessly with Blue Bermondsey BID to help raise the area’s cultural profile by bringing over a hundred top class musical performers to the Blue Market. Music is a universal language and I am grateful to Blue Bermondsey BID for funding and supporting the Gala’s and to all those who came ‘Down the Blue’ and enthusiastically participated. Joined up co-operative thinking creates cultural prosperity and benefits us all”
