Businesses or organisations occupying premises with a rateable value of £7,500 or more pay the levy.
– The current BID term began on 01-10-2019 after yes vote at ballot in July 2019.
– The BID will operate until 31-03-2024, then a further ballot will need to be held if it is to continue.
– The levy is set at 1.25% per year of your premises rateable value.
– Premises occupied by registered charities or schools receive a reduction 50%.
– The levy for empty premises will be charged to the ratepayer.
– An invoice is issued annually in April by Southwark, who collect payments on behalf of the BID.
– All levy paying businesses are eligible to get involved in the governance of the Blue Bermondsey BID
