Welcome to the Blue, the original historic town centre for Bermondsey for many decades. Southwark Park Road is the high street, which still has a large variety of independent shops and businesses providing personal service.
Shop local to support your local community
Our shopping area stretches to adjacent streets such as St James’s Road, Galleywall Rd or Monnow Road and includes the railway arches from the end of Blue Anchor Lane to Rotherhithe New Road in which to find small local breweries and wholesalers. Walk along Southwark Park Road and find a Post Office, a bank, pubs, supermarkets, fresh fruit and veg, hairdressers, fashion shops and many more places to shop, eat and drink.
The Blue Market
Market Place is more than home to The Blue Market, the square has been a hub for community events, cafes to enjoy a meal al fresco and the location for the Blue Anchor Library.
Don’t let others tell you, discover it yourself
There is so much else we could say about The Blue but we prefer to let you discover it in your own way. We are just 10 minutes walk from Bermondsey tube or you can get a bus: 1, 381 and P12 all linking the Blue to Canada Water tube. South Bermondsey at the end of Galleywall Road is well served by trains coming from London Bridge or you can get on your trusty bike.
Our future is exciting with new development taking place on the former Peek and Freans site and the Made In Bermondsey regeneration programme. Above all, it is our people, our community what makes The Blue a great place to live, work and start a business.
We appreciate your feedback and highly value support for local businesses.
