Bermondsey Folk Festival 2019 | A guided walk Of Bermondsey | 11am to 12pm

Tour starting point: St James’ Church,  Thurland Rd, Bermondsey, London SE16 4AA

As part of the 2019 Bermondsey Folk Festival celebrations, John Constable, renowned poet and playwright, is leading a free guided walking tour through our streets, revealing hidden stories and forgotten heritage that will intrigue, delight and surprise.

John is a true authority on Southwark history, endowed with honours such as The Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Southwark and honorary fellow of South Bank University, for his service to the arts and community.

The free walk starts at 11.00am with participants gathering from 10.45am at the churchyard of St James’s Church, one of the iconic landmarks in Bermondsey, and the starting point of the tour which is to end at the Biscuit Factory for the main stage acts.

Organised by Cunning Folk Music

Cunning Folk Music stages regular folk, roots music and spoken word events in interesting places, with a mission to bring a wonderful interesting vibe to likeminded souls. In 2015 Cunning Folk staged the first Bermondsey Folk Festival, which has grown organically to become one of the best Free folk events on the London Folk scene. We are proud to feature established artists, but also acknowledge how difficult is to get there. So at the BFF we give aspiring local performers a share of the action on the Stage.
