The Larder Of London Project
The great thing about the Blue Bermondsey BID is the opportunity to apply for funding for projects and initiatives that will make a positive difference to the community. Funded by Southwark councils High St Challenge the larder of London is an ambitious project that aims to celebrate the rich manufacturing heritage of Bermondsey and the many generations of local people who worked in the surrounding factories where the world’s produce was imported via the docks and the wharves to be prepared, packed and distributed across the country and the world. It has been a joy to work with our partners Pexmas and Gourmandizing to deliver the first phase of the project to create murals in the area celebrating food with recipes reflecting the changes in the local population in 21st century Bermondsey but also giving a hefty nod to the past and build on this platform with further phases celebrating the of larder of London to add great and lasting prestige to the Blue
